Phantoms, fears, demons and dreams swirl around in the music of SomeUndyingVow, the brainchild of Ontario singer/songwriter Bradley Hill. At once deeply personal and universal in scope, these songs delve into the dark undercurrents of desire, loneliness, rage and regret. SomeUndyingVow’s uniquely compelling brand of alternative pop-rock achieves both intimacy and grandeur while remaining rooted in the struggles and longings of real life.
A slew of EPs as well as a full length record and have helped establish SomeUndyingVow’s sound and persona among select fans. With the release of his upcoming EP Nothing Exists But This, Bradley widens his creative reach as he traces an emotional journey from hope to dispair. Searing, tender and heroic, the music reflects an artistic vision that values discipline and craft without losing the raw spark of inspiration.
“I try and take all these dark emotions and turn them into art,” says Bradley, who wrote and played all the music on his new album. “A lot of my songs are focused upon issues like depression and anxiety. I see what I do as taking back the control and embracing the darkness rather than running from it. I hope that people who also face these issues can relate and maybe find comfort in my facing them too.”
Music has been a part of Bradley’s life for a long as he can remember. Starting with piano, he learned to play a variety of instruments as a child. Singing became a special passion as well. Musically he was inspired by intense acts like Fall Out Boy, Halsey and Bring Me The Horizon as well as more introspective acoustic acts like SayWeCanFly. Bradley began covering other artist’s songs, then committed himself to creating his own music. Learning guitar and honing his arrangement skills, he developed a sure sense of studio craft to help realize his artistic vision.
SomeUndyingVow’s music captures journey through darkness towards release and wholeness. It also reflects the creative emergence and growth of a compelling new talent. Let the nightmares begin!
